Fun Times Are Better Times

Well America? What do you have to offer for me to listen to today? No, really, I'm looking for something really fun to listen to. Oh, what's that? Fun.? Hmmm, don't mind if I do! Easily, one of the best bands to hit the earth, new and upcoming, is the band Fun.. In case you're wondering why I wrote 2 periods to end that previous sentence, it's because at the end of the name of their band title, they have a period on it. I haven't even started explaining this fun loving band and already mentioned how extremely clever they are. So what's so great about Fun.? Well easily, they hit number one on the U.S. Billboard 100 list, won best new artist on The Grammys, and best song of 2012, also on The Grammys. All this stuff proves everything that I'm about to explain, but that's only the beginning ladies and gentlemen.!

A Brief History of Fun.

Fun. was formed in 2008, just after the original band broke up. The original band, The Format, was comprised of similar members, but now a brand new band. Not Brand New.  Soon after their formation, they were on their first tour with Jack's Mannequin. I so wish I knew of Fun. back then, that would've been such a fun concert to see. Not too much longer after multiple tours of incredible music, they got together with Panic! at the Disco to release a split single. When I think about the two of these bands together, I think of the complete opposite of catastrophe, or the complete opposite of disaster, or even the complete opposite of atrocious piece of shit combination. This is exactly how I feel about Fun.'s most recent album Some Nights, except for the comment on the combination lol.

Style

There are so many bands and artists out there that sound exactly the same as many others. It's almost like all of these bands are just one big band. They should all get together and actually make one big band out of themselves and call it The One Big Band lol. But when they do this, leave Fun. out of it! Stylistically, Fun. breaks a barrier on  new sound and shows us a new side of music, and literally revolutionalizes it in a new fun way. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but not a lot of people are familiar with the genre Indie Rock. This is the exact genre that Fun. is, to a T. If there is ever anyone that asks you what Indie Rock is, tell them to listen to Fun.'s latest album Some Nights. And not only tell them that it matches that genre, but also tell them that this is the most original sound from a band they have ever heard, or would ever hear in their entire lives, because it's obovious folks, it really is. The best thing about their style is that so many more artists are going to be inspired to make something as amazing as Some Nights, and we're going to hear so much more of this sound. I don't know about you, but I can't get enough of this incredible song writing! Nom nom nom *,P

This album is awesome!!

The Grammys

All of the awards and praise Fun. got while they were at The Grammy's were well deserved. There were so many people bad mouthing this group of genius's and they're all so wrong. They're so wrong that I'm literally having fun laughing in their face. Fun. is obviously way better than Frank Ocean, hence why they beat him in being the best new artist of 2012. They also beat Miguel in best track of the year too, obviously because "We are Young" is far superior to "Adorn". If you're not familiar with the lyrics of "We are Young", these are how they go:

Tonight,
We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight,
We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight,
We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight,
We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight,
We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun

Tonight,
We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun

I know there are other lyrics to this song, but this is the only part I know so I posted how many times they sang this part lol. The only thing that really upset me about The Grammys is that Fun. got beaten by Mumford and Sons. I was so upset that I literally almost cried. But I soon got over it because I remembered that MS are almost just as good as Fun.. Good job MS! Fun. can't win them all ",-D

So, in Conclusion

So, in conclusion, we all know what the best listen is today. If you didn't hear it from The Billboard or The Grammys, you're hearing it from me. The best listen of today is Fun.. And don't listen to the haters, give Fun. a chance yourself. I know what I say to those haters, all the hipster haters. I say, "Hey hipster. Why don't you just go back to shooting your heroine? Or selling your meth on the street while listening to The Black Keys or listening to The Nickleback?" I'm real, and I don't hate like the hipsters. I'll just have a beer and listen to the best music out there according to the best awards. How can anyone argue the best awards a person could get? This is a good beer. I guess fun times really are better times.
