Whether it's a dinner and a movie, movie and a dinner or just a simple romantic dinner at home and a DVD player for two, I've seen and done it all. But this year, I'm really going to think outside the box in hopes that everyone can have a great V-Day. Who knows? Maybe I'll have my way with myself by the end of the night with one of these rock solid ideas.
1. Traveling

Surprise your second half with a last-minute getaway traveling somewhere, anywhere for the next couple days. Today is the last day of the work week allowing those next two days at your disposal. Where to go? The ball is in your court.
2. Camping

There's nothing like the great outdoors. And there's also nothing like taking your partner to a wonderful world of wondrous adventure in the wilderness. Camping is never something I was ever into, but there's so much nature has to offer (not to mention the bonding effect). Fishing, hiking, surviving, discovering new animals or even just building a good ole' fashioned night fire, there's always s'more to do in the wild.
3. Have a Picnic
So you may be low on cash and you might want to get out and do something for that special someone without breaking the bank. This problem is nothing a couple of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and juice boxes can't fix. You don't even need a fancy picnic basket for this 'local getaway'. A couple paper bags and some tape is all you need for her to know that you just want to do something romantic. Got milk? Nope.
4. Go to the Playground

Another one of my favorite cheap, simple dates I love to do on V-Day is going to the community park. This is also a great idea if you're going on a first date with someone too. Hang on the jungle gym. See-saw the see-saw. Swing on the swinging tire. I don't care, I really don't. But you can only play until the sunset comes so you can lay on the ground and watch the stars unveil. First daters, this is your opportunity to make your first move. Don't screw it up.
5. Travel

6. Concert or Live Event

Have that 'special song'? Or how about that special common interest of music? That's right. A huge, overcrowded festival can be just the ticket to winning your sweetheart's heart all over again. Hopefully they have those 30 oz. frosty beer mugs, you're going to be thirsty.
7. Build a Garden

Who says it's too early to build a garden? Get out those tomato plants, cucumber seeds and celery sticks with peanut butter you've been saving all winter and plant some veggies! You and your soul mate will have hours of fun organizing, planting and watering the new backyard crops for your future fulfillment.
8. Just Go Outside

When all else fails, just go outside and enjoy your day.
